Proceedings for subrogation or novation mean that the credit/right/is transferred and assigned to a new debtor. See the AVH Legal, pages 552,"acción subrogatoria", and 940, "subrogación", where the definition of "subrogación" in Spanish can be found.

This means taking a new, and probably longer, mortgage to cancel an existing mortgage, or collecting together various non-secured loans and paying them all with a new mortgage.

I would avoid 'reunification of debts' as Spanglish. On Google, it only appears on pages taken from English translations of Spanish websites.

neutral  Álida Gándara: tratándose de la subrogación, lo relevante es la sustitución del deudor, por lo que en este caso, me parece el refinanciamiento pasa a un segundo plano

agree  Rocio Barrientos: ¿"claims" en caso de subrogarse cartera en ejecución o en mora y "credits" en caso de subrogarse cartera vigente?
