The document is a hedging report (informe de cobertura). The writer (European Spaniard) uses a mishmash of English and Spanish, and I am not familiar enough with the particular jargon of futures to know when he is using an English term and when he is using a Hispanicized version that is common enough in his profession but not true English. So, what is "back" in this paragraph?

Si, yo entiendo back como backwardation, pero no creo que en Inglés sea lo mismo, creo que es la jerga del que habla, acortar backwardation y decir back.
Lo sé por mis años en que dí clases en empresas en Buenos Aires, y mis alumnos profesionales a veces en forma oral, para ser más rápidos hablaban así, no en forma escrita. Pero bueno, es casi seguro que es eso.

Perhaps "backlog" would fit into your context. The next sentence says the stocks are growing scarce and there might be more problems to find a company which can deliver the cathodes.

Thanks, guys, but the meaning of "backwardation" is not the problem. The problem is this: Is "back" used as a noun in English futures talk? Or has the author of the text shortened "backwardation" to "back"? Perhaps his Spanish colleagues understand "back" just fine, but should an English-speaking futures trader read "There is a 3- to 6-month back," would the English-speaker think it is a good or bad translation?
