Spanish term or phrase: fecha inicial / fecha de inicio
The phrases appear as follows and appear to be being used to mean different things:

"Fecha Inicial". Son los Días Hábiles desde (inclusive) la Fecha de Inicio (inclusive) hasta la Fecha de Vencimiento (inclusive).

It is from a document detailing the terms of a currency exchange derivative product that a company is using to hedge against FX risk. Fecha Inicial is in bold and is part of a list of terms being defined. Slightly above in the document when giving the specific details of the deal (nominal, currency pair, forward rate, etc.), it refers to the "Fecha Inicial de el Tipo Fijo" and the "Fecha de Vencimiento de el Tipo Fijo".

I think I phrased my query badly because what I was really getting at was that a date range beginning with the "fecha de inicio" was being used to define "fecha inicial", which really didn't make any sense to me. At any rate, after digging around for more time than I'd like to admit, I found these template contracts for this sort of transaction on the Asociación Española de Banca site. At the end (p.27) is a handy EN-ES-EN glossary that includes this term. It would have been a lot more handy if they had provided a pdf with searchable text though...
