Explanation:
Obviously you wouldn't want to use, "The applications submitted by the applicant," but perhaps one of the other combinations would work:

"The requests submitted by the petitioner"
"The requests submitted by the applicant"

If they are, in fact, actual applications, I'd say:

"The applications submitted by the aspiring candidate" (or just candidate)

In Spanish we know that "la misma" is the applicant/petitioner, but in English the phrase "the same" is not as indicative, especially if her name was not just mentioned, so it's better to specify (in my opinion!).

Of course context is necessary both in order to determine the meaning of "solicitudes" and to decide how to translate "la misma."
