Hi all, looking for a suitable war metaphor to match the original here and I'm not very inspired on a Sunday. Any ideas?

El primer semestre (SI) de 2009, cuyos derechos ahora se liquidan, ha sido muy, muy rocoso. Las ventas y la actividad han caído un ---% respecto al ya malo SI de 2008, hasta la débilísima cantidad de ----M EUR semestrales, unos niveles no vistos desde 2005. Una caída vertiginosa y severa que nos ha producido destrozos y pérdidas en la Cuenta de Resultados de estos 6 primeros meses, aunque todavía con cash-flow positivo. Estamos, por tanto, ***en pleno zafarrancho de combate y acusando las heridas***.
