"Son operaciones de compromiso bilateral de compra o de venta de un activo subyacente de estricto cumplimiento. Se realiza a través de Bolsa y por medio de una cámara de compensación se constituyen las garantías."

"A futures contract, in finance, refers to a standardized contract to buy or sell a specified commodity of standardized quality at a certain date in the future, at a market determined price (the futures price)....Futures contracts, or simply futures ....are exchange traded derivatives. The exchange's clearinghouse acts as counterparty on all contracts, sets margin requirements, and crucially also provides a mechanism for settlement....To minimize counterparty risk to traders, trades executed on regulated future exchanges are guaranteed by a clearing house. The clearing house becomes the buyer to each seller, and the seller to each buyer, so that in the event of a counterparty default the clearer assumes the risk of loss. This enables traders to transact without performing due diligence on their counterparty."
