Asker: Thanks, here is another instance of its use. "para que NO se cuestionaran ni el origen ni la tradición de los mismos." (Speaking of the legitimacy of a bond issue.) I am not sure that the below definition works in this context.

Asker: Caminante, just received this response in another forum, so thanks. I perhaps did not correctly understand the context. La tradición, en Derecho civil español, viene de "traditio" (latín) y significa la entrega efectiva de la cosa objeto de contrato. Exigiendo la entrega efectiva desde la emisión a cada uno de los sucesivos tenedores (poseedores) se ralentiza el proceso, que sería más rápido si se permitiera la compra y venta documentada (sin tradición).
