Spanish to English translations [PRO] Bus/Financial - Finance (general) / Bank employees
Spanish term or phrase:señalamientos de auditoría
The context is a campaign in a bank in Puerto Rico to sell a particular product (a special type of account). The person in charge is not sufficiently trained for his position and has never sold this product before.
Al final alcanzan las metas de la campaña, pero tienen varios **señalamientos de auditoría.**
I have sent a question to the client, but he will not be in the office until Monday morning, and I have to turn this large project in on Monday afternoon.
I'm assuming an internal auditing department, and that the señalamientos are not huge flaws that will get the bank into legal trouble, but rather procedural or mathematical errors. What do you think of "red flags"? I'm a little thrown by the verb "tienen"--wouldn't it be "reciben" or something of the sort?
My current version is, "In the end, they meet their goals for the campaign, but their work receives several red flags from the auditing department." Any suggestions for improvement will be most welcome. Thanks!
Explanation: I agree with juslar re 'observations'. I'm providing an alternative phrase to allow for the context of internal or external, regulatory, etc. audits
Thank you, bizisyl. I like your compact phrase, which fit well into this context and one I found later in a related document. The references from AllegroTrans confirm it. 4 KudoZ points were awarded for this answer
I'm sorry, everyone; I must have hit the wrong button. I thought I chose bizisyl's answer, but my choice is not showing up on the page. I will keep working on this, but meanwhile, thank you, bizisyl, and everyone who contributed.
Sorry, I should have indicated the register when I asked the question. I was being overly cautious with confidential material. The mention of auditing is incidental; it comes up in telling the story of an employee who looked promising but got stuck in a rut. Due to his being placed in a position for which he was inadequately prepared, the quality of his work suffered. The register is quite informal.
Could be red rags to a bull, and it is NOT an audit term

Explanation: In banks (I am the CEO of a Bank), you have two sorts of observations from auditors. The usual ones for processes that have been audited in the past (i.e. your "history" of - say - the past semester) and observations made (but not recomendations because they are auditors, not consultants) for processes (for instance products) that you want to create in the future: Red flags about potential control issues, calculation mechanisms... I.e. you are forewarned about potential problems

Notes to answerer
Asker: Thank you, juslar. I'm virtually certain (from indications I found later in a related document) that this refers to an internal auditing department, but "observations" is the sort of ambiguous term I was looking for.

I say auditing because it is not clear whether we are talking of the internal audit department or external auditors. Juslar may well be right but I don't see how we can know. If it were external auditors I would expect the term 'auditores' to be used.

Asker: I have asked the client to choose between my "auditing department" and your "auditing." I'm sure it's internal, though. Thank you, FVS.

red flags
Explanation: If the text is not extremely formal, I think "red flags" is perfectly fine. That term is frequently used in terms of audits.
Asker: Thanks Michelle. It's nice to know that I don't have to be embarrassed about my original version! I chickened out and decided to go with a more neutral, ambiguous (and well referenced) translation, but I mentioned "red flags" to my client as an option.
