Spanish term or phrase: (indice del) dominio

Not sure what is meant by "dominio", particularly in the case of "indice del dominio". In the other cases below, I think it could just be area/department (i.e. complaints area/department, control area/department, etc. I have given a few examples from the same document:

**INDICE DEL DOMINIO** Y RESPONSABILIDADES DE DESARROLLO DEL DOMINIO DE RECLAMACIONES

"Realizar una multiconferencia para acordar los responsables de los *subdominios*"

"En el desarrollo del **dominio** de Calidad se acordó separar la parte de Reclamaciones de las líneas de trabajo que se estaban trabajando"

The problem here is that we don't have a word

in English to cover this. It is clearly an educational context and dominio means 'mastery', 'discipline', 'subject', 'field of study' 'area' etc. but there is no single word to cover it's uses. I think you will need to mix up the words to suit the context

Indice probably refers to 'contents' (of the subject) but you need to check your context on this.

dominio does seem to mean "area" or "sphere (of activity)", and "indice" seems to mean "index". You may have to mix it up a bit and use "control" where it fits and "area" "sphere" etc. elsewhere?

But as you say "indice del dominio" is the doubtful one. Do you have any more context, specifically applying to that usage?
