GLOSSARY ENTRY (DERIVED FROM QUESTION BELOW)
Spanish term or phrase:
para que reciba dinero, especies, valores a cualquier título que corresponda
English translation:
to receive money, payments in kind or securities for any reason
Spanish to English translations [PRO] Bus/Financial - Finance (general) / power of attorney
Spanish term or phrase:para que reciba dinero, especies, valores a cualquier título que corresponda
This is a power of attorney, confering somebody authority to represent the grantor in judicial processes, administer assets, etc, and one of the paragraphs is:
Para que reciba dinero, especias, valores a cualquier título que corresponda, confiriendo recibos, finiquitos y cancelaciones
I guess there is a mistake, and it is not especias, but especies. Also, I do not quite understand 'a cualquier titulo que corresponda'
What would be the translation of the mentioned paragraph into English?
My attempt:
To receive money, payments in kind, securities, to any corresponding extent, conferring receipts, settlements and cancellations.
Explanation: ...and to issue receipts and grant settlements. "Finiquito" and "cancelación" both translate as "settlement" - I suspect it may mean "full or partial payment by way of settlement"
Thank you, philgoddard. I don't know if other countries, but in Ecuador when you say "cancelar" it may mean to cancel something or to pay something. Do you consider it right if I finish the sentence the "and grant settlements and liquidations"? Or is it redundant? 4 KudoZ points were awarded for this answer
