Bus/Financial - Finance (general) / discounted bills and promissory notes

I apologise for the lengthy quote here - but I thought I'd better give as much context as possible to avoid confusion. This is probably dead easy, but I have a complete mental block and can't work out the best way of translating 'los podrá llevar al descuento' here. What is 'los' referring to - the bills and promissory notes?

Many thanks in advance for any ideas!

Clarification request(s) and response
Sheila Hardie (asker): 9:47am Aug 20, 2003: Oops!!! Missing sentence!! - I somehow missed out the sentence that comes right before the one where I have the doubt:

Sorry about that:-)

Sheila

it can discount them
Explanation:
Hi Sheila,
I'm pretty sure that "llevar al descuento" is just a fancy way of saying "descontar", i.e. discount the bills, which you already seem to know about :-)

so I read that as it (the company) can (will be able to, if you prefer) discount them (the bills of exchange)

actually, I think I prefer the passive: they can be discounted

\"it\" refers to the company

\"los\" refers to either \"letra\" or \"pagaré\"

\"llevar\" in this sense is \"charge\" in accordance with the Oxford Business Spanish Dictionary (2002)

\"descuento\" is \"discount\"

I hope this helps

Mike :)
