Spanish term or phrase: Patente de Empresa
Hi,

Here is the name of a field on a form applying for a loan form a private bank based in Honduras or Guatemala (I think it's the latter ... I cannot tell for sure).

It is accompanied by another field called "Patente de Sociedad". Unfortunately, both fields are left blank, but they have space for a numerical or alphanumerical code.

Even more unfortunately, I have no more useful context!

Does anyone know the difference between the two?

TIA

Notes to answerer
Asker: Actually, Phil has it completely right. My question related to two licence certificates issued by the Guatemalan Government. It is indeed a business licence of some sort. And Phil is correct that my difficulty is the difference between what appear to be two separate types of permit: patente de empresa and patente de sociedad. I do wish these conversations avoided bad-humoured remarks. Translation is a collaborative activity.
