Spanish term or phrase: fideicomisario en primer lugar/segundo lugar
Does this mean first and second trust beneficiary? If not, what does "en primer lugar" and "en segundo lugar" mean in this context?

Thank you. Maria ;o)

You are right in saying that the beneficiaries involved are beneficiaries of a trust. If there should be a \"fideicomisario en tercer lugar\", that would be \"Tertiary beneficiary\" (of the pertinent trust). This also comes from Tom West\'s dictionary.
Saludos,
Richard

Hola María:
Es una joya el diccionario del Lic. West.
Richard

Gracias, Richard. I have Tom West's dictionary, but, for some unknown reason, I failed to consult it. Thank you.

trustee

Explanation:
Maria,

a trustee is not the same as a beneficiary, so I would not use primary or secondary beneficiary. You may have a trustee as one kind of beneficiary in a policy.

Carolyn, I agree with you. In this case, we have a trustee = fiduciario, and we have a fideicomisario = trust beneficiary.... Therefore, Richard's answer and T. West's suggestion of primary and secondary beneficiaries are right on target. Thank you. Maria
