neutral  Jane Lamb-Ruiz: this is used to refer to particular stocks but not to say that a company is now publicly traded....It has nothing to do with a difference in countries. Float might be in an accounting footnote/stock analysis but not to say a co has gone public..

  -> Sorry Jane, I am not sure if I quite understand what you are saying. A company that has issued shares or gone public, publicly trading etc., IS a company that has been floated into the market.
