Taken from an auditor's report on a major bank.

"Existencia de descubiertos simples, provocados por autorizaciones de emisión de transferencias por parte de la Dirección de la Oficina.
No se formaliza ningún documento que ampare dichos descubiertos, estando la mayor parte de ellos concedidos en base a futuras ventas de portafolio a realizar."

On occasions, they seem to make a distinction between "descubierto" and "descubierto simple", but there's no context to clarify it.

overdraft/simple overdraft

Explanation:
En el Diccionario Contable y Comercial de Valletta.
El término común es descubierto. Quizás le agreguen simple para referirse a aquél que se produce por la autorización de la Dirección.
Traduciría "simple" en este caso para diferenciarlos.
