also can anybody recommend a Sp-Eng site or dictionary regarding fish farming? There's a lot of really technical words here that I am having real problems finding.

agree George Rabel: Eso es. A cast net. La definición de Eurodicatum no es del todo correcta, porque la profundidad del agua no tiene nada que ver. Se utiliza también en el mar lanzada desde embarcaciones

I agree with Ltemes: "cast net" is more common than "throw net."
