This is why I concluded you were probably looking at a "barra de playa" (not "plata"):

Just Colluvial-Alluvial Piedmont, or Alluvial-Colluvial Piedmont, instead of Alluvial/Colluvial Fans on Piedmont Slopes
I see both "alluvial piedmont" and "colluvial piedmont" and figure you can probably use the two adjectives in either order.
Here's an example:
