This must be replanting rather than clearing, for which there would normally be some kind of grant available, but in this case since it is mandatory, there is no extra help.

agree  fionn: Forestry offsets. This is not necessarily replanting - offsets (like carbon offsetting) may be demanded by the govt. in return for a licence to build houses, supermarkets, etc. The point is these wouldn't get the normal grants available for tree planting.
