Forestry / Wood / Timber
Spanish term or phrase: madera natural o maciza
This doesn't make sense to me. Why should the wood be natural OR solid?

This is a very simple explanation of how wood is processed.

Las ilustraciones de la derecha muestran las formas más comunes de la madera natural o maciza que podemos encontrar en el mercado; también se ofrece la descripción de cada una de ellas.

English translation:natural or solid wood
Explanation:
I think the author refers to the same thing. He does not give two different options to choose (natural solid wood = natural or solid wood).

"Engineered wooden floors which have two or more layers are widely used in North America. It is preferred to natural or solid wood because solid wood expands and contracts in varying temperature."

solid wood or natural wood

Explanation:
Maybe the writer is merely giving an alternative name for the product; i.e. you can buy it as "madera natural" or as "maciza".
