"El viejo mÃo nunca dejó de fumar, mi madre fumaba y apenas se entregaron a los caminos del Señor."
I know what this says, but am trying to find the right tone for the translation. Currently, what I have is:
"...they met their Maker."
However, this loses something of the Catholic overtone. It reminds me too much of Hollywood action flicks, with someone pointing a gun at another, telling them to "prepare to meet your maker." :-)
What's a commonly-used English expression that would work better (or does this work)? |
