General / Conversation / Greetings / Letters / Police lineup--USA
Spanish term or phrase: Pueden recoger sus 5 puntos de la oficina en la salida.
The following is the end of a dialogue following a police lineup in which the five men who had participated are asked to return to the jail they had been brought in from.

This seems to be a slang expression. Any ideas? Thanks.

Policia:
Bien, chicos, de regreso al refugio. Pueden recoger sus 5 puntos de la oficina en la salida. Jesse, ven conmigo.

Cómo me fue?

You can pick up your 5 points in the office on the way out.

Explanation:
I'd definitely go literal on this as, although the speaker is most likely being sarcastic, there is no way of knowing for sure, and, although it might seem unlikely there could even be some kind of real points involved for there participation on there day trip out from the nick. Who knows!

What about saying what country this is, in case there is some kind of game there someone is aware of where five points are typically awarded, in which case you could be more sure that he's being sarcastic?

rich.
