Cuatro de estos perfiles (A.1, A.2, A.3 y A.4) presentan paleohorizontes definidos por bajos pHs, desaturación del complejo de cambio y proporciones de caolinita superiores al 75 %, asociados a condiciones edafogenéticas de tipo subtropical, de cronología pliocena.
Propuestos como coetáneos, los perfiles B.1 y B.2, ocuparían áreas depresionarias presentando una fracción arcillosa dominada por caolinitas y esmectitas así como complejos de cambio saturados y valores de pH cercanos al neutro.
Los perfiles C.1 y C.2, desarrollados sobre depósitos continentales pliocenos, presentan rasgos edafogenéticos más moderados, con niveles de caolinitas en torno al 50 %, y una evolución asociada a períodos de exposición más cortos a esas condiciones alterológicas de carácter subtropical.

Does this mean that cross-sections B1 and B2 were contemporaries of each other, or of the other cross sections??

It seems that "even-aged / coetaneous" is not used with soil profiles as it is with tree stands. Hope it helps.

I would say that only B.1 and B.2 are supposedly of the same age.

It seems that "even-aged / coetaneous" is not used with soil profiles as it is with tree stands. Hope it helps.
