Las areniscas y microconglomerados están formados por granos de cuarzo, fragmentos de cuarcitas, abundante sílex, feldespatos potásicos (en algunos niveles) y matriz sericítica. Ocasionalmente se observa **cemento ferruginoso poropelicular** y cemento dolomítico en la zona más arenosa del tramo inferior conglomerático. Tanto estos sedimentos detríticos gruesos como los niveles de limos y arcillas son totalmente azoicos.
