Explicación: la palabra no es "castiza" ni en inglés ni en español. Mi sugerencia para que la dejes prácticamente como está se basa en que su sentido es el mismo y en que el crecimiento de los léxicos toma mucho tiempo: technists are persons inclined to appeal to the technical points of view to consider and resolve all kind of matters.

Un pensador o escritor que todo lo vea a través de las lentes de la técnica puede llamarse TECNICISTA, aunque no sea TÉCNICO él mismo en ninguna materia de artes prácticas. Es como decir RELATIVISTA, ENERGICISTA, POSITIVISTA. Por eso he sugerido que también podría dejarse como está, TECHNICIST, aunque no figure en los diccionarios más clásicos (igual sucede en español: TECNICISTA no figura, pero ambas se utilizan ya abiertamente.

neutral  MSuderman: la definición que yo encontré de technicist fue: One skilled in technics or in one or more of the practical arts, que no creo que quede. Pero puede haber otras definiciones.

Se usa para referirse a un "bureaucrat" capacitado en la informatica, dando a entender que el mismo es de la nueva generacion de funcionarios.

Otra opcion (parecida a una ya proporcionada) puede ser "technologically-oriented".
