(ceremonial) cushion
Explanation:
I think just plain cushion is fine...there are certainly plenty of examples, carrying all sorts of things:

page boy bearing her crown on a velvet cushion, stood on the Village Green awaiting the
ceremonial crowning and the entertainment that was to follow.

But at last came the grand act: the King took the oath, he was anointed with the sacred oil; a splendid personage, followed by train-bearers and other attendants, approached, bearing the Crown of France upon a cushion, and kneeling offered it.

Her Majesty's Vice-Chamberlain, acting for the Lord Chamberlain of her Majesty's Household, attended by an Officer of the Jewel Office, bearing on a cushion the Ruby Ring and the Sword for the offering.

In former times the pages of nobles followed the coffin of their deceased masters, carrying the regalia of the various Orders to which they belonged. This is perpetuated today by the carrying of an officer's decorations and medals on cushions by insignia-bearers behind the coffin.

Of course, you could always jazz it up by calling it a "ceremonial cushion"...

neutral Joss Heywood: the spelling is "gilded" from the verb "to gild"

neutral nedra: That would mean the cushion itself was gold, and no just decorated with gold braid.
