Join the 2017 volunteer movement

BUT would "community" instead of "movement" be more appropriate seeing as it's dealing with a sporting occasion. I just think movement is far too politicised, any opinions?

It's a bit more specific that the general "volunteer community" that sounds more like a general pool of volunteers. Actually I used 'volunteer network' as per your suggestion. It works really well in the context. But thanks everybody because I was able to make good use of all your suggestions. Lamarche's 'volunteer movement' is actually the most right traditionally, but I went for 'network' because it seems more 'reader friendly'.

Asker: Thanks hjs. Yes, team would work and I was considering a word along those lines. The only thing I'm unsure about is how much emphasis the originals text wants to make on the social aspect.

Asker: Thanks Jenni, that's a very convincing example but there is one thing, I'm not 100% sure whether the term 'community volunteer' works when the event is at a regional (Mediterranean) level...Then again facebook (which is certainly macro) is and has communities... I'm going to have to think about this one.
