As "company" is never plural in this context in English and you mentioned "enterprises" as an option, I thought you were talking about a business. Regarding friends and family, it would definitely be "in the best of company." This forum is a terrific way of checking things. I wish I had more time to read the EN-SP columns...
Without a full context, it's impossible to know if this is the best term to use, but, in principal, there's nothing wrong with "in the best of companies" or "in the very best company".
