Spanish to English translations [Non-PRO]
Idioms / Maxims / Sayings / Es un articulo de prensa local.
Spanish term or phrase: chancletear
"El Departamento de Dinamización Social de XXX daba inicio al proyecto “CHANCLETIANDO por tu pueblo”, que pretende incentivar las actividades lúdicas. los vecinos aprovecharon además para recoger todos los desperdicios que encontraron."

En el Oxford Spanish Dictionary pone "to slop around", pero los synonymos de slop que encuentro bum around/hang around/fool about no encajan con el acto altruistico de recoger basura ¿o es que 'chancletear' aqui es sarcastico?

I can think of 'flip-flopping around town'...

walk

Explanation:
The context says "tu pueblo" so shouldn't it be "walking around your town," if one renders "chancletear" in the broader sense of "to walk informally"?
