Spanish term or phrase: ojos que no ven, corazón que no siente
I've been presented with a text (written in continental Spanish) about the increase in poverty that has come out of the economic crisis, and there is a sentence that I can't translate accurately into English for love nor money:

Quizá haya que tener en cuenta que << ojos que no ven, corazón que no siente>>

What suggestions can you come up with?

many thanks for your translation of the phrase. in keeping with the rest of the text (which unfortuantely I wasn't able to post here), this seems the perfect translation.

from the Oxford Dictionary of Proverbs

it has the advantage of being very close to the Spanish wording

before I hid my first answer it had an agree from Noni, this is what she wrote: "aceavila - Noni: And I would perhaps recommend using only half the idiom "what the eye doesn't see...." a common technique with the longer idioms like "Better the devil you know..."."

Notes to answerer
Asker: thank you for your alternative translation of the previously mentioned "out of sight, out of mind". As much as it would take some rewording of this particular text to make it flow more smoothly were this translation to be included, it is definately a variant of the idiom that I will be inclinded to use in the future in other translations should the need for it arise :)

agree  Charles Davis: I like this, and actually I think the asker's response is mistaken: "bear in mind that what the eye doesn't see..." flows better and more naturally than "bear in mind that out of sight, out of mind".
