Spanish term or phrase: música bajonera

Hola a todos, necesito hacer una traducción de un extracto de una novela argentina al inglés, hay dos partes que me cuestan mucho dado que la profesora nos pidió que no agreguemos información ni hagamos notas al pie. Entonces no sé como se puede traducir la palabra "yerba mate", sólo se me ocurre "mate" y la otra es, al final cuando habla de una película argentina que se titula: "Tiburón, Delfin y ojarrita" lo cual traduje directamente literal. Es correcto? Aqu´abajo están las versiones del español y mi intento en inglés:

"No me pregunten dónde quedaba. Sé que había un río y, al lado, una suerte de pocilga con heladeritas de telgopor y un montón de gente riéndose con los dientes verdes de yerba mate. Era como viajar en el tiempo. Como meterme un domingo en el televisor, cuando dan las películas de Tiburón, Delfín y Mojarrita».

"Don´t ask me where it was. I only know that there was a river, and next to, a kind of pigsty with Styrofoam cool boxes in and a crowded of people laughing and showing their green teeth due to the maté (a typical hot drink from Argentina, similar in flavor to tea, but different serving). It was like going back in time. It was like getting into the TV set any Sunday when they play the movies of Shark, Dolphin and little stream.”
