Spanish to English translations [PRO] Bus/Financial - International Org/Dev/Coop / Rural entrepeneurship and development | | Spanish term or phrase: superación integrada (de jóvenes y mujeres) | Context: a Salvatorian development aid organisation lists the social conditions in which rural entrepreneurship has to develop. Before the people in that region were helped, women and young people were undervalued and felt worthless - it was until they were told otherwise by this organisation that they started to value themselves more and become active in their community (instead of just looking after their husbands/siblings and doing housework).
"De carácter social:
* La falta de oportunidades para lograr la superación integrada de las mujeres y los jóvenes.
* La invisibilización de las mujeres por el machismo en su rol como agentes económicos.
* ..."
I know that superación ist to overcome something and integrada is integrated, here probably meant involving all women and young people. But I'm not sure what they mean with superación integrada and how to translate it. For my first attempt, I'm taking the meaning from context and have a draft translation:
"Lack of opportunities to overcome inferiority of women and young people."
Any comments, help, suggestions? |
| | | empowerment and involvement | Explanation: Another way of approaching it based on the rest of the text. Perhaps something like "lack of opportunities to develop a sense of empowerment and become fully integrated/ involved..." |
