"Promoting a positive treatment of/towards? children???

Como la ven?'

promoting the protection of children
Explanation:
I think the emphasis here is on how they are treated, not their overall welfare or well-being, which would include socioeconomic factors and those relating to the larger physical environmental that are more difficult to control.

agree  Charles Davis: I agree; "welfare/well-being" is too broad. "Protection" is widely used in relation to treatment of children; the UK has a "child protection register", listing those deemed to be at risk of ill-treatment.

Promoting good behaviour towards children

Explanation:
This is a literal translation and I think it works perfectly in English... it means that society is to respect children, to honour their rights, to treat them as valuable future members of society

agree  Carol Gullidge: I think this is more the idea. Assuming that this is just one of the aspects of 'protección infantil', this needs to be more specific. Think I'd try to find an alternative for 'good behaviour' though :)// I like 'responsible'!

-> hi Carol, many thanks for your thoughtful comment, as an alternative to "good behaviour" perhaps it could be "responsible behaviour"... treating children with the care they deserve. Kind regards - Deb
