Si se va a hacer un uso intensivo en disco ( ---> muchas lecturas y escrituras constantes de ficheros <---) es recomendable usar Fibre Channel, ya que el rendimiento es mucho mayor. Si se realizan ---> lecturas/escrituras <---- más espaciadas (aunque sea de ficheros grandes), se puede utilizar tecnología SATA (Estándar).

I understand what it means, I just can't think of a nice way of saying it in English.

NB: Shouldn't it be "we recommend" (present tense):
"If you're going to use the disk intensively (constantly accessing and/or modifying files), we recommend using Fibre Channel as it provides higher performance."
