Spanish to English translations [PRO] Bus/Financial - Investment / Securities / Disclosure
Spanish term or phrase:manejo
Context:
"El Banco, sus directores, empleados o agentes no asumen ninguna responsabilidad por ninguna pérdida o daño relacionado con, u originada por el uso o ***manejo*** de cualquier parte de este informe."
I understand "manejo" as the use that is given to the information, but I'm having trouble coming up with a synonym that makes sense.
Bill: I (unfortunately) know exactly what you mean... I just never thought it would be so bad, seeing as they told me it had already been edited twice. I, for the life of me, cannot see where they did these edits. Just an example: "Do a clicks here to send by mail this report". I actually think it's kind of funny.

I wouldn't touch them. I have a copy of a menu from a restaurant in Spain, a well-known one, which had an English translation of its menu which I can only assume came from a machine. Customers are offered 'green jews' (judias verdes), and 'tail gives ox' (rabo de buey).
I agree with you, Phil... this job is driving me nuts!! :) I'm proofreading a Machine Translation that has already been poorly edited twice, so I can understand why this client is now checking it under a microscope.
I agree Phil but English is full of tautologies. This contract has 'force and effect', for example is purely tautological but lawyers still use it all the time. At times like this we must remind ourselves that we are paid by the word!!!!!!!
I agree with a both Bill and Phil. But if there's another chance to translate it in a different way.... It's up to Clauda to decide what's best. just posted an answer despite my hesitation...
