Spanish term or phrase: ficha
Appears in a manual. In the developer's words, it refers to "una carpeta donde se almacenan documentos que comparten los mismo campos de indexación" but I can't say I've heard of ficha meaning folder before.

One instance from the ST talks of a ficha as "donde se crea un registro [of the DB]".

Explanation:
In a database a folder contains a number of records that hold information, "ficha" is not a folder since it contains a piece of individual information (a record) or all of the information pertaining to an individual item, name, serial number, purpose etc. i.e. the record.

Ahh... OK. I think REGISTRO in this case refers to additional, new or complementary DATA added to the existing record (ficha). Without seeing the order of things, I would say something like: Index of the record where you wish to create the (new?) data.

Asker: OK, but how does this fit in with sample phrase I quoted from above. In full it is: PWIndice [Parameter name]: Índice de la ficha donde se desea crear el registro" Doesn't registro mean record in this case?
