Spanish term or phrase: Almacén de Informática
Another term from the IT operations manual I am translating. The sentence is "Las copias de seguridad diarias se almacenarán en el Almacén de Informática".
Is this a specific term, or simply "IT/Computer Store/Warehouse/Storage".... there are too many options!
Thanks for any help

Clarification request(s) and response
Richard Jenkins: 12:46pm Feb 10, 2008: The question that puzzles me is, are these 'copias de seguridad' physical or electronic documents? What are they, log books / safety manuals?
eesegura: 8:56pm Feb 10, 2008: Good point, Richard...'data warehouse' usually refers to a type of database to store massive amounts of data; if this context actually refers to off-site storage of media (reels, dvds, whatever), that would not be a data warehouse.
Comunican: 10:32pm Feb 10, 2008: Hi everyone and thank you very much for your responses.
The document does not describe exactly, but I think it means where the backup tapes are physically stored, rather than (I think) a data warehouse.

Media Storage Safe
Explanation:
Hi.
Based on your comments above, I suggest 'Media Storage Safe'.
I used to be an IT manager and we used to keep the daily backup tapes in a locked, lead-lined storage safe. The idea is that no matter what happens, fire/theft etc, the data is still safe.
Best of luck :)

Thanks everyone - in the end I went for "IT Storeroom", as I don't think it is any more than that in this case.

IT Warehouse

Explanation:
In my opinion, the usual term used in computing is warehouse. See:

QUÉ ES UN ALMACÉN?.
A) EL ALMACÉN.

HTH!

IT backup; IT archives

Explanation:
files/transactions are backed up for safe keeping... or stored in the archives for future reference.

I think the latter may be closer to what you're looking for...

agree eesegura: The context refers to storage of data, therefore I would use 'data warehouse'- as this is an industry term used in my software shop. An IT warehouse sounds more like a building, perhaps a place to buy hw/sw. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Data_warehouse
