| | | Welsh mortgage | Explanation: I'm afraid the Roman law antichresis in the KudoZ glossaries is completely unintelligible to Eng.-speaking/Common Lawyers - I've tried it on many: 'What?' is the constant reply, even from Anglo-Am. lawyers in Latin countries.
Note the parties to a Welsh mortgage should be mortgagor/borrower and mortgagee/lender rather than a Welsh mortgagor/ee that shifts the focus to the nationality rather than to this arrangement that an insolvency lawyer-linguist also described to me as a kind of receivership.
'Welsh mortgage (O. Eng. Law), a species of mortgage, being
a conveyance of an estate, redeemable at any time on
payment of the principal, with an understanding that the
profits in the mean time shall be received by the
mortgagee without account, in satisfaction of interest.
--Burrill.'
