Spanish term or phrase: adaptación a la vigente ley de sociedades anónimas
Spain (Barcelona), notarial instrument entitled "ESCRITURA DE CESE Y NOMBRAMIENTO DE CARGOS, AMPLIACIÓN DE CAPITAL Y ADAPTACIÓN A LA VIGENTE LEY DE SOCIEDADES ANÓNIMAS" The "adaptación" apparently consists of nothing more than amending the bylaws. What is the best way to render this "adaptación" phrase in English? (a friend suggested "alignment with" - does that work?) Many thanks.

adaptation to current corporate law
Explanation:
Perhaps if they used the term "adaptación" in the source language, they wanted the intended audience to think that the changes they made were more significant than just amending the bylaws, and therefore the target language should include the same terminology.
Just a thought.

adaptation to the corporate law currently in force

Explanation:
Or, "accordance with" instead of "adaptation to".

Or, "in effect" instead of "in force".

These alternatives seem more economical than either of answers previously offered.

Suerte.
