Spanish to English translations [PRO]
Law/Patents - Law (general) / Mexican Law on Plant Healh
Spanish term or phrase: Aguas en explotación

Gracias!

Asker: Ok. But how do you differentiate from "agua corriente" (the actual Spanish meaning of running water), from water that is being pusposely used for commercial purposes in agroindustrial activities?

I see your comments about natural occurrences in the wild, and on the surface your comments makes sense; however, I just googled "running waters" including "fish farms", "farmed", "salmons" and "weeds," and there are still 692 hits with all these restrictions. Apparently "running waters" is relevant for fish farms, that is not in the wild, and secifically for farming salmon. In the little brief synopsis not all the terms are shown in every case although they do appear upon clicking open the entire text:

Notes to answerer
Asker: See the comment I sent to Douglas. All of these references make perfect sense, but they are natural occurrences in the "wild", or in general. It does not refere specifically to waters used in a business enterprise (such as in ther case of farmed salmon, for example).

Asker: Ok. I see your point, and I was really tempted to go with this answer. However, there are fisheries in still waters too, so if I were to use "running waters", it would de facto cancel a whole other side of the industry, which is still waters fisheries. What do you think? I do appreciate your input
