I go with "formation/organization" as a rule of thumb and I realize that "incorporation" is used (not sure how correct it is) but, all the evidence I've come across point to "formation/organization":

The Articles of Organization is a document similar to the articles of incorporation, outlining the initial statements required to form an LLC at the State level a limited liability company. It is a necessary document for setting up an LLC in many US states.

To the best of my knowledge and based on the article that I am now including as an additional note to my proposed translation, “la constitución de una SRL” has two steps. First a group of people decide to FORM a Sociedad de Resonsabilidad Limitada and they prepare a document where they state all the terms and conditions that shall govern the company. In order to be legally recognized as a company, such document needs to be filed with the relevant authorities, and the act of filing that instrument and obtaining approval, in other words becoming a “legal entity” is called “Incorporation” (Please see the title of the article). I chose the word Incorporation and not Formation, which is correct, because the sentence is Spanish says: “"quienes “FORMALIZAN EL CONTRATO DE CONSTITUCION DE SOCIEDAD DE RESPONSABILIDAD LIMITADA” ...". And that sentence suggests to me that they have already FORMED the SRL and decided to file that document with the relevant authorities for the company to be legally recognized as such.

An LLC is formed with at least one owner and by filing articles of organization to govern the LLC. A PLC, on the other hand, can be formed by two or more directors and or shareholders agreeing to form a PLC, filing a memorandum of association or articles of association to govern the PLC, registering the company as a PLC, and selling ownership shares to the general public.
LLC members can not issue stocks because LLCs are not incorporated. The ability to issue stocks is a right reserved for corporations and is governed by the Securities Exchange Act. A PLC, however, can issue stocks to anyone outside the company because PLCs are incorporated.

One does not "incorporate a name"; one selects a corporation's name as part of the incorporation process. LLCs are usually the better choice for real estate, and LLCs are not "incorporated", they are "formed" or organized.

I don't understand this distinction - a company may not be a corporation in US tax law if your reference is to be believed, but it is in everyday English.

It's always been my understanding that LLCs are formed rather than incorporated:

To "incorporate a business" means to form a new business as a corporation. A business cannot be incorporated as an LLC because an LLC is not a corporation. An LLC is a limited liability company, not a "limited liability corporation."
