Spanish to English translations [PRO] Law/Patents - Law (general) / maritime law
Spanish term or phrase:la venta extrajudicial de la nave
El artículo 1508 del Código de Comercio de Panamá específicamente dispone que la afectación de la nave al pago de los créditos marítimos se extinguirá por la venta judicial de la nave. Sin embargo, no así en el caso de la venta extrajudicial de la nave. El artículo 1508 dispone que la nave enajenada extrajudicialmente se traspasará al comprador sujeta a todos los créditos marítimos que la afectan.
OK, if venta judicial means sale by court order, presumably venta extrajudicial means sale not by court order, or 'ordinary' sale. Is there a specific word for this? Ordinary?
I'm not sure how to translate the original query, but I understand where the tricky part is. For instance, a "procedimiento extrajudicial de ejecución hipotecaria" (also called a "venta extrajudicial") is some way of foreclosing on a mortgaged property by out-of-court means...in other words, a non-court foreclosure. What do people call THAT?

mmmm, I'm not convinced. I managed to turn the sentence about and refer to "sale not by court order", or something like that
