Spanish to English translations [PRO]

Spanish term or phrase: y vistos

at the very beginning of a record of a proceeding, date/city: Y vistos: text of proceeding. So it means that the court is in session, or they are on the record, but usually "visto" means the opposite, or so I thought. THis is from Argentina. What is a good way to express this? Thanks.

I do not know exactly the Spanish but the expression "Having duly seen these proceedings:" is commonly used in judicial resolutions also.

Normally in Latin America court proceedings are all in writing and they are "read", therefore "vistos", which is usually the first word in the sentence, followed by a description of the case or "los autos de" (the record of... case).

Since in the USA cases are "heard" in open court, I use the word "hearing" as a functional equivalent. Moreover, I think that many other translators agree with that usage also.
