affectable or subject to attachment - appropriation Explanation: To affect = to pledge, to encumber, to mortgage. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2001-12-26 14:21:55 (GMT) -------------------------------------------------- ah, y gracias por lo de "chicos" (tengo 61 "pirulos"...) |

Ej: La propiedad no podrá transferirse, cederse, traspasarse, donarse, etc. REF: Exp. propia |

liable Explanation: liability = weakness -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2001-12-29 03:16:21 (GMT) -------------------------------------------------- According to my Webster\'s New Collegiate dictionary (by the way, first time I look up since I joined ProZ), LIABLE = bound or obliged by law or submission to other forces; ANSWERABLE, as \'he is liable for the debt\'; EXPOSED TO THE DANGER OR RISK of something undesired; as \'liable to err\'. Then, there are a number to related words listed: LIABLE, OPEN, EXPOSED, SUBJECT, PRONE, SUSCEPTIBLE. SENSITIVE. INCIDENT and are explained thereafter. |

Yo diría "assets exempt from creditor´s claims" (mira la segunda referencia).
