Spanish term or phrase: Señor Liquidador de X / Presente
(Place & date)
Al Señor Liquidador del Banco X
Presente
Mec1g
English translation:Liquidator / In this City
Explanation:
To the Liquidator of Banco X

THere is some disagreement about <presente>.

Most native speakers I know and my clients believe it means <in this city>, in other words if the letter is written in Buenos Aires, <presente> would be Buenos Aires, Argentina.

However, some folks say it means <by hand>, but I don't buy and neither do most native speakers I know.

neutral  Lila del Cerro: It does mean in this city, but you don't translate it. Natives will only write Mr. So and So, in the heading, and then jump to Dear Mr. So and So.
