Podria dar un poco de contexto? Explanation: La preferencia dependera de la clase de documento. De que se trata? "Witnesseth" generalmente se usa al principio de un contrato u otra clase de acuerdo. "Comparece" en el sentido de "Appears" generalmente se refiere a la presencia de una parte a algo (litigacion, etc.) Pero no podria estar segura sin saber de que clase es el documento. |

To appear in court = comparecer Explanation: Quien comparece ante un tribunal, no necesariamente lo hace como testigo (witness); por lo tanto "appears" puede usarse como tal y no como una opción de la palabra testigo. BEFORE ME Explanation: If this appears at the beginning of a section of a legal document (it usually takes this form), its a formula equivalent to: BEFORE ME, ... Notary Public of ... have appeared: ONE THE ONE HAND, Party X.... AND ON THE OTHER HAND, Party Y... In this sense, it means to appear (before a court, judge or authorized civil servant). |

Gonzalez, represented by his legal counsel" Comparece el Sr. Gonzalez, representado por su apoderado (abogado, etc.) Tambien puede usarse "COMPARECE(N) por ante mi....depende del resto del contexto.
