At the end of a Divorce Decree, the spouse says:

"En esta (date) me notifico de la anterior sentencia y manifiesto que renuncio a término de ejecutoría."

normalmente desde que te notificas tienes un plazo para apelar/recurrir. durante ese plazo la sentencia no está firme- pero si renuncias a ese plazo, la sentencia está firme desde el momento en que te notificas. En Arg. a veces no te lo admiten, sobre todo si el juzgado tiene que librar un cheque (perdón por el obiter dictum).
