In Spanish, what is the difference between alquilar y arrendar.
It always comes up and I am not sure.

2. tr. Tomar de alguien algo para este fin y con tal condición.
3. prnl. Dicho de una persona: Ponerse a servir a otra por cierto estipendio.
(De renda, renta).
1. tr. Ceder o adquirir por precio el goce o aprovechamiento temporal de cosas, obras o servicios.

agree Liliana Lopez: en algunos países se usa más arrendar cuando se trata de tierra, en Inglés se usa rent and lease en cualquier caso

agree aceavila - Noni: The only way I can see of providing two terms! In Spain, official state standard rental agreements use arrendar for property, but otherwise alquilar is the verb of choice.
