neutral  Bill Greendyk: After further research, I'm sure Liz is right...a drop feeder, according to the pictures, is a dry feeder, whereas here a drip-feeding (by bottle) system is being referred to. Cheers!

agree  Bill Greendyk: I'm convinced. The term 'drop feeder' here in the US tends to be used mainlhy for spring-loaded dry-feed dispensers. Your links convinced me. Excellent!

drop feeder

Explanation:
Hog and calve farmers in the US frequently use what is called a 'drop feeder' for suckling pigs and calves. I believe this is what is referred to here.

Buena suerte.

As Liz points out, perhaps the proper term is "drip feeder"....the link below would support that. Although I find it hard to differentiate between a drip and a drop in this context.

PLEASE DO NOT CHOOSE THIS ANSWER!!! I'M CONVINCED LIZ ASKEW HAS THE PROPER TERM HERE, SINCE DROP FEEDERS ARE MORE OFTEN USED TO 'DROP' DRY FEED DOWN A SMALL TUBE THAT HAS A SPRING LOADED DISPENSER. THE QUESTION HERE IS NOT ABOUT POINTS, BUT ABOUT THE RIGHT ANSWER!!
