Spanish to English translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Manufacturing / concrete manufacturing
Spanish term or phrase: Manual Integrado
The text is from a Spanish company that specializes in concrete manufacturing. The client wats the translation into UK English. The text is a list of instructions for operators handling raw material. Under references they have the following:

Manual Integrado de Gestión de Calidad, Medio Ambiente y PRL, capitulo 7

The term "integrado" in Spanish is tricky sometimes because it has so many possibilities into English. At the moment I have: Full Service Manual of Quality Control, Environment and Occupational Hazard Prevention, chapter 7. I'm not sure though, aren't full service manuals usually for cars? Has anyone seen this tem before in an original text?

Thanks a lot in advance.

combined manual
Explanation:
Another option, which seems to me suitable here. It's not a service manual, and "full manual" is not normally said, I think.

"The Combined Manual (CM) gives financial workers a complete, authoritative, concise set of provisions to determine eligibility for the cash and food programs and to issue client benefits on MAXIS."

"Essentially, the documentation package for the management system will contain:
One combined Manual for the integrated Management System with minor upgrades to reflect the common EMS and OH&S requirements."

Thanks a lot. In the end it turned out that Calidad, Medioambiente y PRL was a department at the company encompassing these 3 aspects. They put it on the last page.

neutral  xxxFVS: What plan?? Is there one?, I can't see it anywhere.// Maybe you have some context I have. I know and you know that companies have to have PRL plans, but I also know they often don't bother.

-> It's the manual for implementing the integrated plan (which is what is documented in the manual).

neutral  Dr Neil Ashby: I believe 'gestion' only refers to 'gestion de calidad' - quality control; and not to 'medio ambiente y PRL' (we don't manage the environment [not environmental] but companies usually have a Department for it).

Notes to answerer
Asker: PRL is also occupational hazard prevention http://www.proz.com/kudoz/spanish_to_english/insurance/178070-prevencion_de_riesgos_laborales.html

Asker: I agree with you that we should never rely too heavily on Pro.Z or any single source. However, in this case, occupational hazard is an accepted translation of riesgos laborales. I have found this term in many reliable model texts originally written in English and in translations from the UN and the EU parliament.
