Spanish to English translations [PRO] Tech/Engineering - Manufacturing / manufacturing document (accounting) from company in Mexico
Spanish term or phrase:desembuchado
I'm editing a document from a manufacturing company in Mexico, where the translator has simply left "Desembuchado" all over in an English translation.
I need a good translation for this term. It's a inventory list with some invoicing. This is a Mexican Spanish to US English.
I've been able to figure out the answer through another source. Desenbuchado refers to a style or pattern: revealing or let it all out. Must be a printing or publishing term in Mexico. revealing style, and I think it has to do with the style of producing printing material. There is probably nothing equivalent to it in English countries. It could also be a term for a series of articles published. Desembuchar : Reveal something that someone had previously concealed.
Derivando el significado expuesto por Nodi4, "vaciar", desembuchar se usa también con el significado de "sacar" o "proveer". Por ejemplo, "desembuchar una suma de dinero" o "desembuchar una información" (esta última acepción es muy frecuente en películas de gangsters ;-). Aquí quizás haga referencia al hecho de que la mercancía ya ha sido distribuída.
Not that it'll help you much but I've just discovered that a "buche" is a crop: a compartment of muscle tissue that birds use to store and soften their food before it moves on to be processed by the gizzard.
Seeing as it's an inventory I would imagine it means that they have none of the articles in question left in stock. "Desembuchar" means to "completely empty", taken from when the "buches" of birds were emptied.

In fact, there I look at this, the more I reckon the writer must have misheard "desembolsado" (disbursed, disembursed, paid, settled... etc).
